High School Students and COVID-19

Unfortunately, COVID-19 impacted the lives of many high school students this year. Schools were shut down, extracurricular activities were cancelled, and important events were postponed. Sarah Smith says, As a senior in Hillsborough High School, I really missed out on the opportunities that we get. I don't get to experience important milestones like Prom and Graduation like all the students before me. I'm really upset about this.

College Students and COVID-19

Along with high school students, COVID-19 has also negatively affected the lives of college students. After the initial surge of Coronavirus cases in America, colleges immediately shut down and sent students back home to continue learning through online platforms, like Zoom. Students were very angered by these measures as they are paying thousands in college tuition, room, and board, and receiving no or partial refunds for these changes.

The Future of Students and COVID-19

Many states are wary of reopening schools as scheduled in September. Some colleges have announced that they will be conducting their fall semester with distance learning, while others are using a mix of online and in-person learning. High schools are looking for a safe way to reopen schools as well, but until a vaccine is found for COVID-19, there is not much hope for everything returning back to normal.
